Tuna Melt

This isn’t your basic tuna melt—it’s bold, spicy, cheesy, and packed with flavor


Ingredients:

For the Tuna Mixture:

  • 1 can tuna (drained)
  • 2 tbsp Best Foods mayo
  • 1 tsp Kai’s Peckish (for a savory boost)
  • ½ tsp Kai’s KKC (for a little extra kick)
  • ½ tsp Kai’s Chilli Oil (optional, for spice)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp chopped pickles or relish
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Sandwich:

  • 2 slices sourdough or thick-cut bread
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting)
  • 2 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
  • Kai’s Hot Buzz (for finishing)

Method:

Step 1: Make the Tuna Mixture

  1. In a bowl, mix tuna, mayo, Kai’s Peckish, Kai’s KKC, chilli oil, mustard, pickles, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place one slice (butter-side down) in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Layer with cheese, tuna mixture, and another slice of cheese for extra melt.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread (butter-side up).

Step 3: Toast to Perfection

  1. Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Flip and repeat until cheese is melted and bread is crispy.

Step 4: Finishing Touch

  1. Remove from the pan and sprinkle with Kai’s Hot Buzz for a final hit of spice and flavor.
  2. Slice in half and serve hot!
